Sustainability2020 offers a free, school-based Residential Energy Challenge that offers K12, college students, and community leaders an exciting leadership and civic engagement opportunity. Sustainability2020 serves as a distribution channel for the delivery of facilitator training, tools and curriculum, and an online QUIZ that aggregates data district-wide for analysis and use by local government agencies and interested businesses. Incentives: One possible student incentive could be to monetize the value of Kilowatt reduction - for a college savings fund or energy upgrade - with a match from a Community Foundation.*
DATA Collection and Analysis: We offer interested cities and businesses valuable DATA collection and analysis from the residential sector on how much carbon was offset through the aggregated, sum-total of these individual, home-based actions. It offers a transition roadmap: Where citizens are now, and where they want to go.
Our unique ONLINE and in-house program offers a new way for cities to be "smart" - to be more sustainable, green, and resilient. In addition, our DATA analysis can help improve the efficiency of public services and citizens' quality of life.
*Current estimates range from 20 cent to 33 cents per kilowatt hour.
